About Our Soil... |
|
The base which we use to produce our soil products is the same native sandy loam found on our renowned berry farm at our site in Brooklyn Hts. We screen our soils to ½" allowing for small stones—essential to a good soil product to promote good drainage and to help prevent compaction. Mixed with our own organic humus, which we manage and cure on site, the result is an outstanding growing soil which professional landscapers from throughout the region choose over other soil products available.
Rosby Performance Farm® TOP SOIL
A rich 70/30% blend of our native sandy loam with organic humus which is composted right here on our farm. It is screened to ½" and is a very good high-quality blend for raised beds, top dressing lawns and other landscaping uses. Our soil spreads easily, offers good moisture retention and excellent draining properties.
Rosby Performance® BED MIX
Dark, rich, 100% organic bed mix made of a balanced mix of plant material, leaves, grass, brush and other organic plant waste. Our bed mix is screened to ½" for fine, consistent texture and easy spreading. It’s an excellent soil amendment for gardens, beds, and other planting projects, as well as the perfect top dressing for lawn work. Performance® bed mix is the natural way to add nutrients and improve moisture retention.
Clean Fill
Perfect for filling in low areas and building height in larger landscaping projects. This balanced mix contains chunks of brick, mortar, and stone, all screened to 2" to provide a firm, solid base with excellent drainage.
Alternative Fill Dirt Products

Cuyahoga Valley Blend®
Double-Shredded Natural Mulch
Our Signature Mulch/Compost Blend!
Made of 100% organic materials with Cuyahoga County origins for a true
locally-produced, all natural mulch. Includes high concentration of
hardwoods, barks, and pine with leaf humus to create a deep brown
"Woodland Carpet." Helps improve soil structure, maintain soil
temperature, retain moisture and keep weeds under control.
Rosby Rich® Color-Enhanced Mulches
(Triple Shred Quality)
For rich, consistent, color that lasts all season long, use 100%
recycled Rosby Rich® mulches with mixed wood, including
hardwoods colored with leading environmentally friendly mulch colorant. Our customers
receive "triple-shred quality at double-shred prices" thanks to our new equipment which
allows us to achieve a finer, consistent grind within a two-grind process. Our
meticulous sorting processes allow us to reclaim clean, untreated wood waste to
produce a 100% recycled product that is colored to make an excellent double-shredded
wood mulch.
